Welcome to the birth of Jamaica Maroon Organic™— a visionary organic coffee estate set against the lush mountain-scapes of Cockpit Country. Our goal is to redefine the Jamaican coffee industry with the production of the finest specialty grade USDA certified organic "green coffee" beans destined for roasters in Japan, Korea, North America, and Europe. We aim to establish a sustainable, climate-resilient coffee operation, ensuring economic prosperity for the Maroon people while contributing to global climate goals.
In partnership with the Maroon/American Coffee Company, LTD, we produce organic, shade grown specialty coffee under the banner of Jamaica Maroon Organic™. Cockpit Country is the largest contiguous rain forest in Jamaica, and the source for 40% of the island's water. With a diverse ecosystem, hosting endemic flora and fauna, we use regenerative forestry to protect critical habitat for the endangered Jamaican yellow boa, giant swallow tailed butterfly, and West Indian mahogany.
The American Coffee Company takes pride in producing the finest specialty coffee in Jamaica. We employee a regenerative approach to forestry, integrating scientific methods and specially selected varietals to produce the finest coffee, and protecting the forest for generations to come. The truth is expressed in each and every cup.
The Maroons of Jamaica have been living in the western mountains of Cockpit Country for over 500 years. Maroons are descendants of the indigenous Taino, Moorish mercenaries and Akan slaves escaped from the British intercontinental slave trade. After fighting the British for 80 years, Cudjoe of Trelawny Town, signed the peace treaty of 1738, establishing autonomy for the Maroon government in Accompong to represent all of Cockpit Country.
